Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida

We purchased a Groupon for a Brevard Zoo membership, I paid $51.  I knew we were planning a trip to Florida to that area and this would be a good value for our family.  They are an AZA affiliate zoo (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) so my membership has reciprocal at many zoos and aquariums.  Normal admission is $16 for adults and $12 for children, we would have paid $44.

Feed the Giraffes for $2, much cheaper than other zoos we have visited!

Feed the Lorikeets for $1.

It started out simple enough…

But then his friends noticed the nectar..

She handled it well but didn’t appreciate the one that landed on her head.

Seed sticks are $1.

But maybe the best part for kids is the splash zone.  The zoo had a water area for the kids included in the price.

We loved this zoo. The staff was so friendly, they told us stories of the animals in their care and how they came to be at the zoo. We asked about hurricanes and the animals.  We spent several hours at Brevard Zoo and will visit again.  https://brevardzoo.org/

And the best part was our AZA zoo membership was good for a year. We visited Tampa Zoo, Milwaukee Zoo and others on the one purchase.

  5. That is such great value for your money. I really like that you’re able to interact with the animals. The zoos I went to as a kid never had that. Though, I don’t think I would be too happy either if a bird landed on my head. Thanks for linking up to the #SundayTraveler. Don’t forget to link back to one of the cohosts when you get a chance. See you next week 🙂

What a great zoo that lets you get up close and personal. The Lorikeet experience looks amazing! I did that in Singapore years ago, but the birds weren’t as eager. I love to feed giraffes, too. Its amazing how large their heads are!

  19. So cool. Zoo memberships are the best. We love checking out different ones when we travel. Thanks for sharing tbtlinkup

I see some Aussie Birds in there. Feeding the lorikeets is a favourite thing to do in Australia as well. They are noisy feeders aren’t they. Looks like a great day for the family and now you can use the card to visit other zoos and aquariums. Excellent value 🙂

  21. This looks like so much fun. Look at her face! I love good zoos. Such memories!

  23. Looks like a great zoo! Love how close you get to the giraffes! Thanks for linking up to the #SundayTraveler 🙂 See you next week!

  24. That looks like a blast! We just went to Busch Gardens in Tampa and it cost more than $2 and $1 to feed the giraffes and lorikeets so we didn’t do it. Great idea to get a membership and visit another state’s zoo. Our zoo is part of that membership too but we didn’t get one this year.

Thanks for linking up with #smallvictoriessunday last week. Hope you link up again, this week’s just went live!

  25. I loved your pictures. I think I’ll plan a trip with my granddaughter and let her experience that, too.
