Crystal Beer Parlor Dinner in Savannah

I read about nachos with pickles on tripadvisor and thought it might be a good item to try on our trip.  The Crystal Beer Parlor was two and a half blocks from the Country Inn and Suites and they offered them on the menu.  The reviews sounded great so we gave them a try on a Sunday night. We arrived a little before six and were quickly seated in the back restaurant area at a table.

Our waitress was great and quickly brought our drinks and Gawgia Cracka Nachos.  I should have taken a picture, they  were interesting looking.  BBQ smoked pork, cheese, onion and dill pickles.  (We had them hold the jalapenos.) We went with the half order and it was plenty to share! I really liked the odd combination.

I ordered the Double Decker Club sandwich with fries and Husband ordered the pick three seafood items.  The shrimp, oysters and deviled crab with veggies and ocilla slaw.

The sandwich was HUGE! I hardly ate half of it and I had very little for lunch that day.  Husband was all too happy to take it back to the room for later along with a deviled crab left from his meal. He loves a good midnight snack.

We had given ourselves over two hours to eat and get to our eight pm ghost pub crawl.  We finished around 7:20 and needed a box and the bill.  Our poor waitress had a large tables food come up and she was running all over.  So we flagged down a bus boy to get a box and maybe the bill. That went no where… We flagged down another waitress and once again nothing.

At 7:40 our waitress was free from the larger tables and quickly gave us a box and our bill.  Just a lower end to a great meal, she was good until she was overwhelmed by other tables.  Someone should have stepped up and brought us a box for the food. Or helped her out.

We ran through the rain to our hotel to quickly drop off the food! ( It was on the way to the tour so I had planned on a pit stop.)   I would eat there again, the food was really good. And I would definitely order the Gawgia Cracka Nachos. I just might avoid a busy night or hit them for lunch if I am on a time schedule.
