Once you can extricate yourself from the Orlando airport its a very quick $3 and 45 minute toll road drive to Port Canaveral. So very easy and probably one of the reasons we chose to come back. No one wants to sit in the car for over an hour at the start of your trip!!!!
We had previously stayed at the Radisson at the Port, we chose it again for our stay. Daughter loves the large pool and I like the location not far from Cocoa Beach.
We arrived on a Monday night, avoiding the cruise crowd. The hotel was pretty empty on our stay which we loved! We checked in and were very pleased to find out we were upgraded. I had paid 38,000 points for a standard two queen room. A standard queen costs $107 a night plus tax if you are paying.
We were placed in a 2nd floor two room suite with whirlpool tub. Merry Christmas indeed!!!! Daughter was thrilled with a pullout couch and her own space. The regular price for this room is $142 plus tax. I also now see an option that this room can be booked for 57,000 points a night.
It was in the mid 80’s when we arrived so we immediately headed for the pool before dinner. I have never seen towels down by the pool so we take our own down.
On busier warmer nights the pool bar is busy next to the hot tub. Often on the weekends they have live music by the pool bar.
We spent two nights in this locations since Club Carlson offers the 2nd night free for points redemption with their card. The hotel has great seafood and the cruise port within a mile.
The hotel offers a restaurant but we did not visit it on our trip. Husband is a coffee only for breakfast guy and Daughter is happy with a poptart. I am happy to not take the time for a sit down breakfast unless its free or a special occasion.
