If you have followed us for a little bit you can see we like to try things off the beaten path. The same can be said for food! When I heard about Russian House I knew I could get the family to give it a try!
We arrived early in the evening Sunday because of the time difference and we did not have reservations. I really wanted to see if we could eat here! There were a couple of people at the bar when the hostess said she could seat us.
You walk through the bar into the dining room that looks very much like a Grand Mother’s house. There were two other tables filled when we arrived, it was much busier when we left!
The menu is pretty large and it takes a bit to choose because I had to read all the item descriptions!
Adults are given a shot of vodka and a board with sauerkraut, radishes and rye bread to start was placed on the table. That was some good sauerkraut!
Husband ordered an appetizer that was crepes filled with salmon. He loved it!
They offer Russian beer so we to try one. It was pretty much like a light beer, not bad.
Husband ordered the fish, the whole stuffed trout. Usually this does not go so well in restaurants but he tries it anyway. This he said was the best restaurant fish he has ever had. He wanted to lick the plate clean, he loved it!
I went with the nights special of Chicken Kiev. So many things looked good but this was a great choice. It was so tasty! The potatoes are hands down the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Skipped the peas but everything else was amazing!
Daughter went for the Beef Stroganoff and pasta. She ate most of it and said it was very good.
I had really wanted to try dessert here but we had all eaten way too much! They have some great choices like Blini or a Baked Apple that I had eyed.
We had such a fun meal here. The food was as good as it could possibly be. The service was great as was the atmosphere! This is a place I would definitely go back to.
