Residence Inn Alamo Place

We spent our one night in San Antonio at the Residence Inn Downtown/Alamo Plaza.  We had many Marriott choices when picking where we wanted to stay.  Husband had his free anniversary stay certificate to use for our trip so we needed a category 5 or lower Marriott.  We could have done the Fairfield Inn across the street, Sprinhill Suites or Towneplace Suites all in the same area.  Residence Inn had a one bedroom suite available so they won by default.

The hotel is a five minute walk from the riverwalk.  Its so close!  Even closer is the Alamo!

Our one bedroom looked just like any other Residence Inn so I must not have taken a picture of our room.  Daughter was pleased to take over the couch and her own tv.  We were a bit worn from our hike earlier so Daughter elected not to visit the pool with Husband and I .  The pool are was empty at 4pm and we had the hot tub to ourselves.

The front desk answered a couple of questions for us and gave us some recommendations. She was spot on with her suggestion to eat at Iron Cactus for dinner.

Breakfast the next morning was a bit busy.  I had gone for a run around the riverwalk because it was not 70 and sunny back home.  The breakfast area  was empty when I left but it seems everyone had come down to breakfast while I was gone!  I grabbed some juice to go back to the room and wait out the hoards.

Half an hour later around 9:30 things were manageable when Daughter and I came down for breakfast. They even had more of my favorite Texas waffle makers!

In spite of the morning rush everything was restocked and ready for our meal.

We took some time in the morning to shop around the Riverwalk area before heading out to Corpus Christi.  Lots of fun shops and a great place for a girls weekend!

The going room rate is $139 for the one bedroom suite or 25,000 points.  It made more sense to use our free night certificate here than on a room that is 15,000 points like the other Residence Inns we stayed at on our trip.  Really I feel for the locations and huge breakfast $139 is a very fair rate if you pay in cash!
