Another Stay at Foley House Inn

Since we were using airline miles/credit and hotel points I told Daughter I would be able to grant her request to stay in a bed and breakfast.  Oh the choices!  There are so many great room options in Savannah.  You need to start your search early because a few weeks out some places were booked solid.

I wanted to be futher from the river to show her a quieter side of Savannah. I really teettered with booking a superior king room with the balcony facing Broughton Street at the Marshall House.  And then there was the Eliza Thompson House and Kehoe House that looked amazing.  I was looking for a balcony and a king sized bed or two queens.

Ultimately I went back to Foley House Inn for its central location. Also Husband and I had such a nice stay a couple of years back.  They had the Westmorland room available which is on the third floor with a balcony over looking Chippewa square.  After Daughter found the E. Shavers Bookstore she spent even more time on the balcony reading her new book.  We had stumbled upon the book store on our way to the Cathedral during tour hours.

The room is good sized with a large private bathroom and shower. Also it offers a fireplace in the winter months and french type doors that open to the balcony.

The top left room with the awning was ours.

We were able to check in a little after 3pm and were greeted with lemonade and pastries in the dining room. We had assistance getting our luggage up to our third floor room and had any questions answered.

It was nice after dinner to relax on the balcony and watch the ghost tours talk about Foley House.  Many horse and carriages travel the popular square on tours.

We had set breakfast for 9am the next morning.  We took a hot run to Forsyth Park and around the park block before taking our showers and getting ready to leave Savannah. We were able to squeeze out a fast/hot three miles hitting the park and a couple of squares.

Breakfast started with a muffin and fruit with choice of juice.

Then there was an option for scrambled eggs and sausage or a feta quiche.  I went with the quiche. The feta made it pretty salty but it had good flavor.

Breakfast was good and we were quickly able to check out and begin our drive to Charleston around 10:30.  We had a good stay but I felt our prior stay was a bit nicer.  Maybe its just returning someplace that is causing a lower comparison, not sure.  I was wowed last time but this time was just good.
