Pigeon Forge The Old Mill Dinner

I had read good things about the Old Mill for dinner and knew we had to try it.  For tourist places that do not take reservations we try to arrive a bit earlier than normal for dinner.  I hate to wait an hour so if I have to arrive at 5:20 to eat at a decent time so be it.

A round 5pm I said to husband I know its early but we should head out to dinner soon.  We crossed the very busy 321 at a crosswalk because that road was crazy busy!  Going one block from 321 put us on the very quiet River Road and a nice trail along the river.  People were fishing and wading in the water.

We arrived at the hostess stand to hear there was only a twenty minute wait which I consider very good on a Saturday evening.  We were able to wait in the gift shop for our name as we browsed.  They offer the ground items from the gristmill, souvenir items, baking items, t-shirts and you name it.  I did not find things to be grossly over-priced and came back the next morning for some of the corn chowder we had with dinner.

We were seated at a nice table in the center of a large room, some seats do offer window views.  Our server was fast and quick to refill our drinks on the hot night.

Husband ordered the trout which he said was very good.

If you have been you know your meal is a lot of food!  Your entree comes with a cup of the very delicious corn chowder. Then they bring corn fritters.  And then they bring a salad.  Then comes your entree with a side, I did a tasty sweet potato with mine.  Also a large side of green beans comes with your meal and dinner rolls.  And if you are not bursting the seams of your jeans you get dessert.  We took dessert to go for later in the night.  I had chocolate cake that was very good and husband did the fruit cobbler.  SO MUCH FOOD!
