Cross Country Skiing at Sarett Nature Center

We have wanted to cross country ski all winter but its been way too cold to consider doing anything.  Once the temp was going to be above 20 we figured it was time to make our move.

Sarett Nature Center is located just off -I196 right near I-94.  The nature center is made up of over 1,000 acres and have miles of trails.

It has been years since I have skied and Daughter never had.  We were quickly fitted with skis and told the easiest trails to start on.  This put us across the roads in the pines area.  It was very flat and well groomed, perfect for beginners.

All in we spent a little over an hour and a half before we got cold and went in.  We fell a few times and tried to conquer a few small hills.  It was a great first time out and if the weather holds we will be back again this season.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium – where Winter lives

We visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on our way to Clearwater Beach.  The aquarium is open from 9am to 6pm. They offer a variety of ticket options, you can visit Winters Dolphin Tale Adventures and the aquarium.  We chose to visit just the aquarium with general admission.  Tickets were $17.95 for adults and $12.95 for children, I found a $3 off coupon online and used that at the aquarium.

We watched the dolphins interact with the trainers for a while.

Checked out the other animals at the aquarium and the touch tanks.

We had a good time. Daughter is a fan of the movie so it was fun to see Winter.
