Foley House Inn – Romantic Savannah B & B for our Anniversary Trip

Husband suggested we stay at a B & B for our anniversary get away.  I was surprised by the suggestion but went to working trying to find the perfect B & B.  We were fortunate enough to secure a night at the Foley House Inn in Savannah.  They have a prime location for their bed and breakfast. And their rooms and decor were perfect for what I was looking for.

The Foley House made up of the two building with the green canopies, you enter in the red brink building to register.

The interior is beautiful with chandeliers, fireplaces and antiques.  We were offered high tea options upon our arrival. I had a very tasty layered chocolate cake and lemonade.   They also offer wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening. We were out for a walking tour and did not get a chance to partake.

The common areas are stunning, our room was amazing!  We were located in the Stafford room on the 2nd floor.

Our room had a fireplace, whirlpool tub and a balcony overlooking the square.

We are dorks, we enjoyed the balcony more than anything. We had no idea that there would be a parade of carriages, trolleys and even hearses all night past our B & B.  Everyone was waving and the people watching was great!  Our balcony was right above the two American Flags.

They are located on Chippewa Square in the Savannah historic district. They are less than a half mile walk to the riverfront area.  This is the famous square from the movie Forrest Gump where Forrest sits on the bench telling his story. The bench is a prop but the background of the park will look familiar.

Breakfast the next morning was offered on the patio or inside.

Pretty much everyone was outside so we opted to eat inside, just the two of us.

Breakfast was either peach pancakes or eggs and ham.  He went with eggs and I had the pancakes. They were very delicious and Husband raved about the tasty ham all day.  We also were served warn biscuits that I know I could never replicate, and fresh fruit.

To tell the truth I did not want to leave the Foley House!  We had two more nights in Savannah at the Country Inn & Suites and I was bummed to be moving to the hotel.  I could have stayed a week, I loved it!  It was our first stay at a B&B and it exceeded my expectations in every way.  If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend that you stay at Foley House. You will NOT be disappointed!  It was the romantic night I was looking for.
